Laureum Journeys

At Laureum, we design learning journeys that honour childhood while preparing children for formal schooling.

Our programs are grounded in inquiry, guided by highly qualified educators, and unfold primarily in outdoor, real-world environments across Singapore.

Children learn through play, exploration and meaningful inquiry — with literacy, numeracy and bilingual development intentionally woven into every experience.

We currently offer two programs designed to meet children where they are, developmentally and emotionally.

Our Programmes

Choose between Foundations and Horizons for ages 3 to 6.

A play-based, inquiry-led programme where language, independence, and curiosity take root.

A thoughtfully scaffolded programme that deepens thinking, strengthens foundations, and prepares children confidently for what comes next.

The Foundations Programme (3-4 years)
The Horizons Programme (5-6 years)

The Foundations

(Typically ages 3–4, Nursery 1 and Nursery 2 equivalent)
Ratio 1:6

The Foundations Programme is where curiosity is nurtured, confidence is built, and core learning habits begin to take root.

3-4 year old children spend their days exploring outdoor environments, leading their own hands-on inquiry, and participating in small-group learning experiences guided by Masters-qualified educators. Through play-based inquiry, and true play, children develop early literacy and numeracy skills, strengthen expression and comprehension in English and Mandarin, and learn to collaborate, communicate and problem-solve with peers.

We focus on building strong foundations — self-regulation, motivation, thinking skills and a genuine love for learning — so children are emotionally and cognitively ready for the next stage of schooling.

Focus Areas

  • Outdoor exploration and nature-based risky play

  • Early literacy and numeracy through authentic and meaningful contexts

  • Inquiry journeys led by children’s questions and interests

  • English and Mandarin language immersion

  • Social-emotional development and self-regulation

  • Building independence and confidence as learners and global citizens

The Horizons

(Typically ages 5–6, Kindergarten 1 and Kindergarten 2 equivalent)
Ratio 1:7

The Horizons Programme is designed for children preparing to transition into primary school — without sacrificing the joy, wonder and agency of childhood.

Learning journeys become more extended and complex, with 5-6 year old children engaging in deeper inquiry journeys, collaborative problem-solving, and purposeful literacy and numeracy experiences embedded within real-world contexts. Educators intentionally scaffold academic skills while continuing to prioritise play, movement and exploration outdoors.

Children develop strong bilingual foundations in English and Mandarin, practise executive functioning skills such as planning and reflection, and learn to take increasing ownership of their learning — all within a nurturing, relationship-based environment.

The goal is not just school readiness, but life readiness: confident, curious, capable children who enjoy learning and believe in themselves.

Focus Areas

  • Extended inquiry journeys and research

  • Strong literacy and numeracy foundations

  • Bilingual learning in English and Mandarin

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving

  • Collaboration, leadership and responsibility

  • Transition support for primary school

We meet Mondays to Fridays, for 10 weeks each term, from 8:30am - 12:30pm.

While no two weeks look exactly the same, children experience a gentle and predictable rhythm that balances exploration, focused learning and reflection.

Weekly Rhythm

Each day includes:

  • Morning powwow tuning in and briefing

  • Outdoor exploration

  • Inquiry journeys (small and whole group investigations)

  • Literacy and numeracy woven into daily explorations and inquiry

  • English and Mandarin language experiences throughout the day

  • Creative expressions through art, songs, movement, storytelling etc.

  • Reflection circles to communicate thinking and emotions

This rhythm interweaves freedom and structure - allowing children to feel safe, grounded and deeply engaged.

Voices from our Community

Reflections shared by families we've journeyed with

Dear Siqi,
Over the last two years, **** has been fortunate to have you as his teacher, especially in these formative years. You've been such a guiding force in his little life, you've encouraged his self-expression, allowed him to voice his (many) thoughts & opinions while pulling him back just enough to stir conversations & most importantly, you've empowered him to be unabashedly himself.

For all this & more, we are incredibly thankful.

Dear Siqi,
You are one of the most amazing teachers I've come across, and I wish we had transferred ****** much earlier! She has grown and blossomed so much under your teaching and care!! I've not seen her being this confident and self-assured before! You have definitely left an indelible mark on her life, and are a good role-model! Thank you for being so incredible & I'm glad you decided to be a teacher!
